Pam Ganswindt - 3rd Grade

null

Pam was born in Milwaukee to Ralph and Carla Ganswindt. Her older brother Scott, twin brother Patrick, and younger sister Kathy kept the house lively while they were growing up. Between bike races down the street, football in the back yard, darts and roller skates in the basement, and swimming in the pool outside, they had their share of stitches, broken bones, and general bumps and bruises!

Lutheran education has always been important to the Ganswindt family. Pam's family moved to Hilton, New York and she attended St. Paul's Lutheran School from Kindergarten through 4th grade. When her family returned to Wisconsin, she attended Elm Grove Lutheran School from 5th through 8th grade. She spent her high school years at Milwaukee Lutheran High School, graduating in 1985. Pam graduated  from Valparaiso University in 1989, and completed the colloquy program at Concordia University in 1994.

In her spare time, Pam enjoys watching the Brewers and the Packers, bike riding, golfing, watching movies, and traveling. She has been blessed to be able to travel to many places around the USA and in Europe. Her most memorable trip was a one month mission trip to Latvia several years ago. It was amazing for her to see God at work in another part of the world. The thing that she most enjoys is spending time with her family. Anyone who knows the Ganswindt family can imagine that the time spent together is full of laughter, music, and quite a few great adventures!

Pam’s entire teaching career has been at Elm Grove Lutheran School. She has taught in the first, second, and third grades. She has also directed several children's choirs at EGL, is on the EGL Foundation Board, and is the chairman of the annual golf outing, dinner, and auction. In the past, she has served as interim Youth Director for one year, the director of VBS, and has sung in the choir. She continues to be a part of the handbell choir.

Pam can remember many of her former teachers encouraging her to become a teacher. She loves what she does, but she especially cherishes the fact that she is able to share Christ's love with the children in her classroom each and every day. The kids keep things interesting for Pam. She can't imagine a job that doesn't include kids laughing. The joy of having a classroom full of kids learning and having fun is something she looks forward to every day.

There are two Bible verses that are important in Pam's life.

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths."

Romans 1:16 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes."
