Mrs. Terri Elvers 5th Grade Homeroom
Literature - Grades 5-8
Terri was born in St. Louis, Missouri but moved to various locations because her father was a Lutheran pastor. In 1992 Terri married Matthew Elvers, and in 1993 graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin. Soon after graduation she joined Matt, who was stationed at an Air Force base, in Montgomery, Alabama where she taught at Trinity Lutheran for twoyears before moving back to Wisconsin where she taught at Mt. Calvary, and at Christ The Life for three years. Terri likes teaching because she likes communicating, sharing important information, and helping children prepare for a lifetime of serving the LORD. She loves sharing the Good News!
Throughout the various congregations she was blessed to serve, she has been a Sunday School teacher, a church choir director, and served on various committees and boards. She was also president of the EGLS PTL for one year.
Terri enjoys reading and writing poems, songs, and devotions. She loves blogging about day-to-day experiences with her family of seven. She is in the process of writing a devotional book for moms and would like to be a published author one day.
The following two passages guide her daily life.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
“Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror, then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part, then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” (1 Corinthians 13:12)
