If it is necessary, due to inclement weather to close school, announcements will be made on local television, radio, stations, and websites, normally prior to 6:30 a.m. Television stations include: channels 4, 6, and 12. Radio Stations include: WTMJ (620 AM), WKTI (94.5 FM), WMIL (106.1 FM), The Brew (97.3 FM), News Talk (1130 AM), V100 WKKV-FM, The Wolf (920 AM), and Milwaukee’s My (95.7 FM). The television stations also usually include school closures on their websites. We will make every effort to get an announcement on our website www.egl.org by 6:30 a.m. if there is a closure. Normally we will close only if the Elmbrook and New Berlin School Districts close, because that means there will be no bussing on that day. If school remains open and you feel that transporting your child would be too hazardous please contact the school office and let us know what time your child will arrive. Students, who arrive late due to weather are given an excused tardy. Your judgment in this matter will always be honored.

EGL SCHOOL FAMILIES BRIEFING: With the advent of ‘no tuition’ for EGL-member school families, it is vitally important that everyone understand the implications for faithful stewardship. In order to accomplish this goal, each EGL-member school family is required to attend one of two stewardship briefings scheduled between the worship services on Sunday, Aug. 10, and Sunday, Aug. 17. Each briefing begins promptly at 9:15 a.m. and ends promptly at 10:00 a.m. Again, the requirement is that each EGL-member school family attend one of these two briefings.

ABOUT the ELEVENTH SUNDAY after PENTECOST
Theme: The Treasures of the Kingdom
God set apart the Hebrews as a people for Himself. (Deuteronomy) He knew what they needed, and so He gave it. God also gives us what we need. Faced with affliction, we often ask “why?” – forgetting that in all things He works for the good of those who love Him. (Romans) Having been called, we know we were first predestined, are now justified, and will one day be glorified in the likeness of His Son. A great treasure, a pearl of high price, are all those who belong to the Kingdom. (Matthew) For the joy of our redemption, our dear Lord went and gave all He had so that He might purchase us with His body and blood to be His own. One day His angels will separate the wicked from the righteous; for now the great enterprise of the Kingdom includes one and all. May the Lord Himself give us eyes to see what He is doing in and through His church!
