Giving Thanks “Oh give thanks to the Lord for He is good, and His mercy endures forever.” How many times do we say those words and not give pause to truly think about what they mean. The Lord has been good to us and even when we encounter difficulties He is still there with us each and every day. He has blessed us and our families with all of our earthly possessions. It is our responsibility as Christians to share the blessings He has given to us with others, our chapel offering for November is one such opportunity. We encourage everyone to take this opportunity and share those blessings.
Each November, EGLS has an ingathering of non-perishable food items that will be donated to the inner-city Lutheran Church food pantries. This ingathering will take place on Wednesday, November 26 at our Thanksgiving chapel service. Each class has been assigned certain items to bring and students may bring those in at any time. In past years, specially requested items have included peanut butter, tuna fish, canned meats and baby foods, but all non-perishable items are greatly appreciated. When selecting items for the ingathering, remember to give from your heart in thanksgiving to God for His bountiful blessings to each of us!
