The following studies are available, beginning on Sunday, December 7, and continuing through the month of February:

Christian Life Today: Health & Well Being:
The Christian Life Today Bible study series explores contemporary adult issues. This particular study includes 12 sessions relating to the health and well being of Christian men and women. It seeks insight from God’s Word and encourages discussions with other Christians on how to apply the truth found in the Scriptures to one’s life.
Targeted Audience: Adults
Leaders: Randy Randall (Chair, Board of Elders)
& JoAnn Randall (Parish Nurse)
Location: Conference Room #228

The Book of Kings:
1 & 2 Kings are combined as one book in Hebrew (Masoretic) canon and known simply as “Kings.” In the Greek (Septuagint) canon the two documents appear separately. This study takes a quick look at both volumes in an effort to better understand the history of Israel and her kings.
Targeted Audience: Adults
Leader: Pr. Eric Skovgaard
Location: Church Nave

The Gospel of Luke:
Luke’s gospel account is often a favorite one for those who love his Christmas story. However, Luke is also an historian and theologian. This study takes a close look at the medical doctor’s gospel account and compares it with Matthew and Mark as well.
Targeted Audience: Adults
Leader: Pr. Larry Myers
Location: Music Center

A Longer Look at the Lessons:
A Longer Look at the Lessons offers guidance for personal study and prompts discussion and application of the assigned, weekly Scripture lessons. Each week’s study has three goals in mind. First, it provides information about the assigned lessons and their contexts. Doctrinal emphases are pointed out, and the text is often related to other statements of Scripture. Second, it asks questions that help the group explore the texts and provoke analytical thought. Answers are to be sought first in the pericopes themselves, with other references cited for backup or expansion of the thought. Questions that explore the text are just asking “What does it say?” to focus attention. Other questions ask “What does it mean?” These require more time and thought. Third, each week’s study encourages discussion and application to Christian life today by asking “What does it mean for us?” This is the essential goal of every Bible study. Fill-in-the-blanks exercises focus the attention of the group on key words of the text, and they are intended to provide emphasis of their significance in a simple way.
Target Audience: Teenagers
Leader: Karen Clark
