Did You Know!
- Due to Parent-Teacher Conferences, we have early 12:00 p.m. dismissal on Thursday, October 30 and No School Friday, October 31.
- There is No School on Thursday, November 6 and Friday, November 7 due to the fall Teacher’s Conference in the Wisconsin Dells. EGL Child Care will be open!
- Martin Luther High School will hold an Open House for all prospective students and their parents on Monday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m. Enrollment applications and the Registration Fee may be submitted on this evening. The school will be open for classroom visits. Students, parents, teachers, and administrative staff will be available to answer questions about courses, co-curricular activities and student life. If you know of anyone that is interested in a quality Christian education for their child, we would encourage you to invite them to our Open House.
- Basketball gets into full swing this week with all of our teams practicing. Our coaches this year include: 7/8 boys Mark Van Engen, 7/8 girls Al Lewis and Dan Berry, 5/6 boys Al Lewis and 5/6 girls Bill Hoeg. MLESAA Position Day for 7/8 boys and girls is on Saturday, November 8. Tentatively it is girls in the a.m. and boys in the p.m. 7/8 teams will also be involved in the Zion Tournament the weekend of November 14-16. Once the schedules are finalized they will be posted on the website www.egl.org under EGLS Sports, so you can check it at anytime.
- Our first EGLS Skating Party of 2008-2009 is on Monday, November 10 from 3:45-5:45 at Skateland in Waukesha. The PTL is sponsoring a fundraiser dinner at Culvers in Waukesha following the skating party.
- Picture Retakes PK-8 Thursday, November 13 and group photos.
· Students in grades 3-5 are invited to participate in this year’s Forensic Night scheduled for Friday, November 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the CLC. Forensic Night is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their public speaking skills by presenting a selection from their favorite story or poem. Students may also create their own story or poem to present. Students will be critiqued on their presentation and ribbons will be awarded to the best presenters.

Did You Know!
- The musical is coming! The musical is coming! Our students in grades 3-5 are working hard on this year’s musical “Adventures in the Wide, Wide West”. You are invited to join us Friday, October 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the gym for this exciting and fun evening. What is it about? Well that’s a secret--you’ll just have to join us to find out! All of our EGLS families are invited to join us for a night of music, laughter, and maybe a lesson or two. We hope you will reserve this special night.
- Due to Parent-Teacher Conferences, we have early 12:00 p.m. dismissal on Thursday, October 30 WITH BUS SERVICE and No School Friday, October 31.
- Warcats-2 completed their season last Thursday with a loss to St. Martini. They finished with a record of 1-4. However the players improved a great deal throughout the season. Warcats 1 completed their season on a winning note easily defeating Hales Corner. Warcats-1 finished with a record of 3-1-1 tied for second in the league. We want to thank our coaches Mr. Rob Schilz and Mr. Bill Hoeg. Believe it or not 7/8 boy’s basketball begins next Monday, October 27 with a parent meeting at 6:00 p.m. followed by practice from 6:15-7:45 p.m. There will also be practices on Wednesday and Thursday next week. Position Day for MLESAA is on Saturday, November 8.

Did You Know!
- Christian Education and Beyond: How has an education at EGLS benefitted students who have graduated from high school and moved on to college? What are the benefits of sending your child to a Lutheran High School? This evening will address these questions and more. As we hear from a panel of former EGLS students as well as representatives from our Lutheran High Schools about the importance a Christ -centered education can make in the lives of our children. Join us Friday, October 17 for this informative and important parent meeting sponsored by the Parent Advisory Committee.
- Parent-Teacher Conference Forms went home this week for Parent-Teacher Conferences on October 30 and 31. Please fill out those forms and return them to the office by Monday, October 20. Thanks for your help.
- The fall sports season came to a conclusion this week with both Warcats teams playing their final games. On Tuesday Warcats 1 defeated Warcats 2. Then on Thursday Warcats 1 defeated Hales Corner to finish with a record of 3-1-1 while Warcats 2 lost to St. Martini to finish with a record of 1-4. We want to thank our coaches Rob Schilz and Bill Hoeg for all of their hard work this year as well as our parents for coming out to support the Warcats. 7/8 boys basketball will hold their first practice on Monday, October 27 with a parent meeting at 6:00 p.m. and practice from 6:15-7:45. The complete results for this year’s cross country meets can be found on page 7.
- Cub Scout Pack 64 Fundraiser continues until 10/24/2008! Ask any Cub Scout how you can purchase outstanding Cub Scout popcorn and wreaths to support the Pack's activities. Scouts will be on hand between EGL church services this weekend in the lower lobby. Scout popcorn in decorative tins makes a great gift for family, friends, business associates, employees, etc. You may also contact Cubmaster Mark Ewert at 262.790.9791.
