VOTERS' ASSEMBLY: The quarterly meeting will occur on Monday, Nov. 17, at 7:00 p.m. Please note the “Elders’ Listening Session” (see below) that precedes the meeting.
NEW MEMBER TAILGATE: All members are invited and encouraged to come and get to know our new members at a tailgate party, hosted by our Evangelism Board, on Sunday, Nov. 9, immediately following the second worship service. Location is the Christian Life Center (CLC). The Packers game (against the dreaded Minnesota Vikings) will be viewed via ‘big screen,’ beginning at noon.
“CS2: The Journey Continues” is Here!“CS2: The Journey Continues” is a follow-up on the Consecrated Stewards stewardship education and commitment process that helped many of our members grow in their spiritual lives and in the grace of giving last year. See the insert concerning the events that begin this weekend. Mark Nov. 8-9 now as the time of our Consecration Weekend. And, please pray that God will bless this emphasis as a time of spiritual growth and commitment.
BOARD OF ELDERS’ LISTENING SESSION: The Board of Elders would like to thank all those who attended the first of three listening sessions this past Tuesday. If you were unable to attend, please mark your calendars for the remaining two sessions: Monday, Nov. 17, 6:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, Nov. 25, 6:00 p.m. Each session will last only one hour and take place in the Christian Life Center. The intent is to hear feedback and receive constructive comments on the topic of public worship in the congregation. You are invited to attend one, two, or all three of these sessions.

ARTS & CRAFTS HOLIDAY FAIRE: Time is quickly approaching for our annual Arts & Crafts Holiday Faire, to be held in the Fellowship Hall—Sat., Nov. 1, 10:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.; before and after the Saturday evening service; and on Sunday. Nov. 2, between services and after the late service. Lunch will be available on Saturday. As always, your donations are very welcome, and any crafts or canned food items can be brought to the WFH on Mondays, Oct. 20, & 27 (10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.). Also, ladies, get your recipes out. We need your delicious home-baked items. They are always such a big hit. Bakery items can be brought to the WFH on the Saturday morning of the Faire at 9:00 a.m. Thanks to everyone for your past patronage. We look forward to seeing you all again this year. WELCOME BACK, REV. ANDRUS: This weekend we welcome back to EGL the Rev. David Andrus, Executive Director of Lutheran Blind Ministry. He will provide the message at all services and a special update briefing between the two Sunday worship services in the church nave. Please do come to hear his exciting news.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES FOR CHILDREN IN AFGHANISTAN NEEDED: One of our military men, Jeff Netzel, is serving our country in the U.S. Air Force and is currently stationed in Afghanistan. He wants to gather school supplies for children in Afghanistan who have no supplies. Pencils, small pencil sharpeners, crayons, crayones, sheet paper, or tablets are especially desired. Donations for shipping are also welcome. For more info or to donate, please contact Mrs. Linda Hoffmann before Sept. 24.

Growing in Christ Sunday School starts this Sunday Sept. 7. Come see the revised format for this year! There will no longer be an opening or treats in the Fellowship Hall. Students will go directly to their classrooms anytime after 9:20 a.m., with class beginning promptly at 9:30 a.m.
SERVICE SCHEDULE CHANGE: Please note that the summer worship service schedule ends after this weekend. The services next week (Sept. 6 & 7) will be on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. and on Sunday morning 8:00 a.m. & 10:45 a.m. Sunday School and Sunday Bible classes also begin next Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

WEDDINGS: On Friday, Aug. 8, at 3:00 p.m., Ruth Burhop and Dan Bretl will be wed at our altar. And, on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 2:00 p.m. Stephanie Mueller and Jeff Laundre will be wed. We pray God's richest blessings upon these two couples.
CHRISTIAN SYMPATHIES are extended to the family of Elmer Borchardt who died this past Sunday. A private memorial service was held on Wednesday. "I know that my Redeemer lives..."
EGL SCHOOL FAMILIES BRIEFING: With the advent of ‘no tuition’ for EGL-member school families, it is vitally important that everyone understand the implications for faithful stewardship. In order to accomplish this goal, each EGL-member school family is required to attend one of two stewardship briefings scheduled between the worship services on Sunday, Aug. 10, and Sunday, Aug. 17. Each briefing begins promptly at 9:15 a.m. and ends promptly at 10:00 a.m. Again, the requirement is that each EGL-member school family attend one of these two briefings.
