Dear Parents,
On behalf of Elm Grove Lutheran Church and School I would like to thank you for your interest in our school.
Each day as parents you make decisions that relate to your child’s welfare and development. What should they eat? What should they wear? Who are their friends? What should they watch on tv? I would ask you to consider one additional question; Where should my child attend school? The Brookfield, New Berlin, and Waukesha school districts provide children with a strong academic education and some fine programs. However, there is one thing that they cannot provide, and that is the opportunity to study God’s Word on a daily basis.
Maybe an even more important question to ask yourself, is how important is my child’s faith development. Do I want my child in a loving and caring environment in which their faith is nurtured by the study of God’s Word and the example provided by Christian teachers, parents, and students? This is a question that I would hope that you, as parents, would consider and struggle with as you ponder the future of your child. Our society places less and less importance on Christian values and faith and public schools are a reflection of the society around them. Is this the educational environment in which you want to place your child? In Proverbs 22:6 we are told, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” Lutheran education is there to help you train your child and to help them grow in faith.
I would encourage you to give careful consideration to where your child will be attending school, why your child will be attending there, and more importantly, will your child be receiving the spiritual nourishment that he(she) needs to grow in their faith.
